The chronology of the Harris family in Deddington is recorded on two significant memorials:
Inside the church on the right facing the south door
John Hyde (1826-1886) emigrated to New Zealand in 1850 where, after a successful career, he made a poor investment, became bankrupt and died soon after. His story was published in the June 2026 edition of the Deddington News
His parents and grandparents lived on the Market Place in what is now Clydesdale and Wells Cottage

The inscriptions are extremely hard to read so we are indebted to the Oxfordshire Family History Society [OFHS]who surveyed our churchyards and left us with transcriptions, imagers and locations
