Millennium Project
Like many other place across the country, Deddington Parish marked the 50th anniversary or Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II's reign in 2002 with a programme of events and celebrations over the Jubilee weekend, as well as other events. Below you can find details and records of some of these.
A Weekend of Celebration
The good weather and an enormous amount of hard work by a myriad of people resulted in a truly memorable series of events that will be remembered for a very long while. The older members of the community who helped organise the Golden Jubilee were unstinting in their praise for the younger generation who had taken on the task of marking this most important occasion with a wide range of activities. While it would be invidious to start to pick out individuals - because so many did so much - it would be true to say that Parish Councillor Rick Haslam's enthusiasm, leadership and energy was the key to the success of the weekend.
The following is a short summary and taster of all that was on offer.
