Ellen Jane (2) (b.1847) & Descendants

1868 Ellen Jane married Benjamin Henry Kimber Elliot (b.1845 in Oxford) in Woodstock. Their first four children were born in Ramgate, Kent.

In the 1871 Census Earnest (b.1869) is found as a visitor with Mum Ellen at William and Charlotte Gibbs in Deddington. Percival b.1870, William b.1873, then Ellen b.1875. Later they move to Norwood, Surrey, to have Martha b.1877, then move to Hartley Wintney, in Hampshire, to have Arthur b,1880.

1881 Census. They moved to live in Romsey, Hampshire. Benjamin works as an Insurance Agent. Perhaps life is on the up as they now have a domestic servant Mary Ann Light from Wickham, Hampshire.

By September 29th, 1891, though Ellen had died, but not in the UK, but Brooklyn, New York. Obviously the family had moved to the U.S., but sadly Ellen died on the operating table due to the sceptic poisoning from a bursting of a malignant tumour, as seen in her death certificate. Her address was given as Windsor Terrace, Flatbush, Brooklyn, New York.
